A summery card for a rainy day.....

This is a make and take I will be demo'ing on Saturday at a workshop for one of my Downline Lydia, the way Stampin' Up! works is demonstrators sign up under another demonstrator, who we call an Upline.  It's the Uplines job to support their Downline, offer training and support in building a business, so I'm off to run a workshop with Lydia, we are going to have a great evening.

I'm planning on building a big team of crafters!  So if you'd like to find out more about this opportunity and become part of my team please email me  ajpapercraft@btinternet.com

So this card is using a wonderful set Summer by the Sea, and a level 2 hostess set Garden Silhouettes.  I made a z card using half a sheet of A4 Bashful Blue card stock cut lengthways.  I then folded it in half and the front section in half again.  I then stamped all over using the Cow Parsley stamp again in Bashful BLue and I used a technique where I inked the stamp and then got 3 images from it just by repeat stamping, that gives a lovely shadow effect.  I stamped the gir;l image on Confetti White card sock, it has lovely flecks of colour running through it and is wonderful to watercolour on.  I matted the image onto Pretty in Pink Card and then stuck the left hand side onto the folded back front section.  I stamped the greeting punched it out using the 1 1/4" circle punch, layered onto a 1 3/8" circle of Bashful blue onto a Scallop punch of Pretty in Pink, I finished off with some little white dots with my gel pen.

Don't forget on the post below I'm giving away a lovely stamp set, please post a comment and I'll enter you into the draw to be held on Thursday.

Ribbons Ribbons Ribbons

Stampin' Up! has some wonderful ribbons and I have been searching for a nice way to store and display them that wouldn't take up lots of space.  I've been thinking about using a paint pail, one of the clear ones but they all seemed quite big.

So whilst having lunch today soup from a well known supermarket..........it came to me, I could recycle the container the soup came in.  Definately cheaper than a paint can and better for the environment!

Now the picture above is of my first attempt, there are 9 holes for ribbons, I do have more ribbons well they are such lovely colours and great value........ but the ones I've stored in here are the ones I use the most.  I am going to tweak the design a little so a revised version will be blogged later.

Never froget your place.......

Okay funny title but this set is called unfrogettable and I've made a couple of bookmarks!  So please excuse the play on words.

I've made the bookmark 1 1/2" wide so that I can feed it into the reverse of the scallop punch to make a shaped top.  Each bookmark has a scallop punch of Certainly Celery Designer paper attached using a jumbo eyelet and my trusty cropodile.  For the bling I've used dazzling diamonds on the 2 way glue pen that came in the Simply Sent kit which is on special offer this month and for the bulging froggy eyes I've used a little PVA glue.

There is "faux" stitching around the edge, just my piercing tool and mat and a white gel pen on the dragonflies and a Certainly Celery Pen on the frogs.

Heartfelt Thanks

I love this set and when I was asked by a friend to make a thank you card for a gentleman I had the colours all set and ready to go.

The base card is Basic Black with a panel of Rose Red, I stamped Rose Red, Old Olive and basic black for the flower and sentiment and finished it off with a Gingham ribbon knot. Stampin' Up! gingham ribbon is very soft and satiny, not cotton based like many others.

I'm rapidly approaching 1,000 hits so watch out for some giveaways soon.
