Penny Spinner Instructions

Penny Spinner Cards

Craft knife and metal ruler
Image to spin
3D Stampin' Dimensionals
2 x 1p coins
Cardstock, paper and embellishments

1. Take your folded card and layer a piece of patterned paper ¼” or 0.5cm smaller onto the front.
2. Cut a piece of strong cardstock for the spinner holder, the size will be determined by how much of the backing paper you wish to see, between ½” or 1cm and 1 ½” or 3cm is about right.
3. Working on the reverse side of the spinner holder find the centre point of the card and draw a cross going to each edge of the card.
4. From the centre point mark a line 0.7cm above and below, stop the line 2cm in from the edge (you can vary this dependant on the size of the item that will spin.)
5. Using a metal ruler and craft knife cut this rectangle out. It is much better to cut inside the line and trim off rather than cut too big in the first place !
6. Sandwich a foam circle in between 2 pennies and attach the item to spin onto the top of one of the pennies, slot into the cut section of the card with a penny on either side. Check to see if it spins. If it gets stuck then trim a little excess off the card. Sometimes it takes a few goes for it to get started.
7. When you are happy it works attach the spinner holder card to your card front using foam pads or tape, make sure you use plenty so the pennies can move freely. Decorate the card further if you wish.

Top Tip

If you make a template for a A5, Square and DL card following the steps 4 – 7 using pieces of scrap card, you can just trace out the image on the back and cut out without having to measure every time!

Variations

Diagonal spinner – Find the centre point from each diagonal corner, mark the slot as before working on the diagonal lines.

Wobbly line – Use a free hand blade to cut the top line on a scrap piece of card and draw a pencil line along it. Then move the scrap piece of card approximately 1.4 cm down and mark a second line and cut out as before.

Notepads

Hostess Gifts, I always give the hostess of my home workshops a gift to say thank you for inviting to their home.  It is always a homemade and uses some of our wonderful Stampin' Up! products, this month I've made some note pads, they are similar to the magnetic pads found here on an earlier post.

I've used double sided paper to highlight, the ribbon is a design touch by my daughter which actually serves an important purpose, it holds the top flap down, because our cardstock and paper is such good quality and heavy it kept lifting up, so thank you Kimberley.

I'll post close ups and product details tomorrow.

May Specials Continue

Wow May is certainly turning into an amazing month, I've had some wonderful Stampin' Up! workshops hosted by some amazing ladies and met lots of new people crafters and non- crafters alike, we've made lots of projects and have had lots of fun and laughter along the way.

The very best thing about Stampin' Up! is the way it brings people together, home workshops are all about having fun and expressing creativity, it most definitely is the best job in the world!

However, I know that some people aren't able to host a home workshop, (although do email me I am very happy to travel!) so there are a couple of different things you can do to get your hands on Stampin' Up! goodies.

Place an order with me via email and I will get the goodies sent directly to your home via DHL.  Normally the cost of this is £3.95 per order or 5% of the goods total which ever is the greater.  However for the rest of May 2008 if you place an order with me for £20 or more I will pay the cost of your postage.

The second option is to host a catalogue party, I can send you a copy of our current catalogue and order forms, you share this with your friends and family collect orders and again I will pay the postage for this and get the entire order sent to your home.  Please email me for more details.

Just in case you missed the announcement earlier on.......everyone who places an order with me this month will be entered into a prize draw, the prize is a stamp set of their choice from the current catalogue.

One last thing the Stampin' Up! May special is also still continuing see earlier post for details.

I'm on the front cover !

I'm so proud, I've just got my copy of Cardmaking & Papercraft issue No53 June 2008 and I'm on the front cover with the caption "I turned my Hobby into a career".

The article is on page 36 and 37 and shows some wonderful pictures of a workshop I attended at Runways End with a bunch of very talented scrapbookers earlier this year, one of the picture was taken by Helen who is one of my downline team, so thank you so much for doing that for me.

The article is all about Stampin' Up! and how much I enjoy being a demonstrator, it is absolutely the best job in the world!

Do email me if you want to find out more about Stampin' Up! as a home business opportunity.

Do go and get a copy, I'll be posting copies of the cards shown later on this month.

In the meantime, my May specials for my birthday continue anyone who places an order with me during my birthday month will go into a prize draw for a free stamp set of their choice from the Catalogue.  Yes that is ANY stamp set.  It does include all orders already placed with me at workshops already this month.
